Creative Ideas To Market Yourself

I recently read an article about a creative idea to market your business by trying to create a “semi-celebrity” status for yourself. The article described it as becoming “slightly” famous. The idea is that you come up with a interesting or gimmicky way of delivering your services which will get people to stop and notice or will entice your existing customers to tell their friends about you. In today’s online, Facebook, MySpace, and Twitter world, it is not difficult to spread your name and profession around. But it is difficult to cut through the noice and get noticed. While I don’t think that techniques described in the article will be applicable to every profession it is not hard to see how a little creative thinking could help your Salon or independent Hair Stylist business.

I think that just being who you are is the best way to attract clients. You will attract the clients who fit your personality. But to get them to come in to the salon in the first place you do have to be slightly famous. Take part in local women’s fairs, ladies luncheons and take classes where you can make your “in person” circle of acquaintances bigger.
